Ethereum-Based Virtual Game Gets $12M in Funding
This game called CryptoKitties apparently has received 12 million dollars in funding from big name investors.
Some of those same investors have invested in Coinbase, Facebook, and Twitter.
The game involves making/breeding virtual cats in which you can buy/sell with Ethereum.
Seems like it is fairly popular.
Anyone fancy developing CryptoKitties 2 with me? Only if we get the 12 Million though... ;)
Haha. What seem like simple games can still make a ton of money if they are promoted right in the crypto-world.
@lucky777 I think crypto in games is a massive area right now. It will be interesting to see if there becomes a dominant coin or if loads of different ones are used.
@joes Yeah I think if a major video game developer or publisher creates their own little token or whatever, that might become the first dominant gaming 'coin'.
But as far as using an established cryptocurrency (not some sort of 'token') I think ones like Ethereum or NEO might be the most popular ones to integrate.
